Amazon India has rolled out a new feature that allows its customers to pay their credit card bills via Amazon Pay. It is the payment arm of the e-commerce giant. With the development, Amazon has joined the Indian digital waller provider, such as PhonePe, Paytm, and others.

The new feature of Amazon India allows users to make payment for any credit card bill using UPI or internet banking. As per reports, Amazon Pay (1) balance was not one of the available options to pay the credit card bill.

While commenting on the latest development, the spokesperson of Amazon stated that the new launch is part of the company’s commitment to its customers. He added that the ecommerce giant is continually innovating to create unique experiences that offer seamless use in digital payments.

It has led the giant to launch new features to pay the credit card bill. Customers can use it to complete the cumbersome process of paying their credit card bills in a single click via several payment options. However, the spokesperson did not make comments about whether users would get any rewards for paying their credit card bills via Amazon Pay.

Amazon India Aiming to Boost Amazon Pay Users in India

In July, the company partnered with Acko General Insurance, a digital insurance startup of the country, to offer auto insurance to Indian customers. The deal allows customers to get products with Amazon Pay with car and motorcycle insurance offers on its app and mobile site.

Amazon had introduced its Amazon Pay digital wallet four years ago to increase online payments in India. Now, it also offers credit cards and processes payments for the bills of customers.

As per the company’s statement, Amazon India has registered over 100 million customers in India to access more financial services. The company is making several moves to attract new customers and sell 13 USD Amazon Prime annual subscription. It offers users access to extra benefits, including insurance and gold.

The Amazon Pay India head, Mahendra Nerurkar, stated that the ecommerce giant aims to increase its Amazon Pay users numbers. Since its inception, the company has signed over 4 million merchants.
