The partnership will act as a link between online video streaming and DTH services making streamable content available directly on the TV.

Dish TV, on 7th October, announced that it would be partnering up with Amazon Prime for DTH streaming of its content. Under the agreement, the DTH firm will be launching a hybrid model of the set-top box, which will have the Amazon Prime app preinstalled on it to allow users to enjoy video streaming on TV, without any additional accessories.

Previously, Dish TV had also launched DishSMRT Stick for Rs 599, which allowed users to stream online videos through platforms like Hungama Play, Zee5, Sony Liv, ALT Balaji and so on. With severe competition from video streaming platforms, even Airtel launched Xstream TV that claims to feature more than 10,000 movies and shows from various video streaming platforms. Tata Sky also started ‘Tata Sky Binge’ that offers digital content from multiple apps.
