Crowdfunding platform Ketto raises Rs 109 crore to help & support over 3 lakh people amidst the pandemic

Mumbai-based Kunal Kapoor’s crowdfunding platform Ketto has raised over Rs 109 crore amidst the pandemic, that will be used to help and support over 3 lakh people in different ways.

Ketto (1) has already been making an effort towards helping people by providing PPE kits, ration kits, and supporting migrant workers in other ways.

Additionally, the platform has also established community kitchens to feed hundreds of people every single day.

The crowdfunding platform works towards raising funds for different causes, including personal- health, education, & travel, social- NGOs, nonprofits & charities, and creative- movies, music, theatre, fashion, & technology.

Kunal Kapoor, actor and Co-founder at Ketto, said that it was gratifying to see that Ketto was inspiring individuals to raise funds on the platform, especially for some cases that held a special place in their heart.

Raised funds for campaigns like ‘Milkar for Mumbai’ & ‘The Khakhi Project’

Campaigns like ‘Milkar for Mumbai’ have ensured food security for the most vulnerable, while ‘The Khakhi Project’ has helped support the police force with the right safety essentials.

Ketto started Ghar Bachao, Ghar Banao Andolan, during the lockdown 1.0 to help support stranded migrant workers in Mumbai and their families.

The platform has also been volunteering to provide them and underprivileged children with food. Ketto has also successfully accumulated funds through fundraisers for animal welfare.

Keto earlier raised Rs 30 crore in crowdfunding through the philanthropy arm of CleverTap called CleverTap4Good.

Varun Sheth, Co-founder at Ketto, referring to the economic crisis and loss of jobs, said,

“We are hiring aggressively pan India during this pandemic as we have seen a huge growth of individuals & NGOs using our platform to raise funds for their causes, we believe with a larger team, the quality of experience & support will go up tremendously.”

Founded in 2012 by actor Kunal Kapoor, Varun Sheth, and Zaheer Adenwala, Ketto focus on helping people and organizations in need of money to raise some through its fundraising platform. The platform raised $700k in July 2015 from angel investors, including Pradyumna Dalmia from Calcutta Angels and Sudhir Rao of The Chennai Angels.

Ketto has been working to build its expertise in the healthcare domain and at on-boarding 600 plus hospitals in the coming 36 months. The platform also plans to launch its product in the health-tech vertical to improve patient engagement & discovery during their ongoing medical treatments.
