Work From Home

Firms (1) have given their workers the choice of either operating from their homes or staying at home if they have recently traveled to the countries affected.

Some of the companies given this order include:

  • Godrej Industries
  • Wipro
  • Flipkart
  • Aditya Birla Group
  • Infosys
  • Coca-Cola India

 

At the time, every organization globally accepts work from home, bearing in mind the immensity of the crisis and its disastrous effects. It is being considered that in the current situation, coworkers doing the job inside the secure boundaries of their residences will improve productivity and efficiency.

 

Economic Crisis

The coronavirus epidemic’s trade effect on India is reported to be about $348 million, and the nation ranks among the top 15 economies most impacted as China’s manufacturing downturn disrupts world trade, according to a UN survey(2).

The trade impact for India is projected at $129 million for the chemicals industry, $64 million for textiles and apparel, $34 million for the automotive industry, $12 million for electrical machinery, $13 million for leather goods, $27 million for minerals and metal goods and $15 million for wood-based products and furniture.

 

Avoid Larger Gathering

Godrej Industries, Hindustan Unilever, and Flipkart asked their workers to avoid large-scale meetings. The Aditya Birla Group has informed its employees to avoid any event or gathering with more than 15 people.

Pm Modi tweeted that no central government minister will travel overseas in upcoming days and also advised people to avoid non-essential travel. Moreover, he added that the spread could be stopped and ensure safety by avoiding large gatherings. (3)

 

Coronavirus scare

IIT Delhi 

India’s first top university to close off operations because of Covid19.

Because of the situation with COVID-19, IIT Delhi has planned to suspend all classes, exams, and public meetings with immediate effect on the campus until March 31, 2020.

 

Bihar Govt.

Faced with Coronavirus Pandemic, all schools, universities, and 

coaching institutes must remain closed until March 31.

Govt school students can get the funds in their bank accounts for midday meals until their schools are closed.

 

BS Yediyurappa Bans

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa: All malls, multiplex halls, pubs, and other huge gatherings in the state have been banned for an extra one week.

 

Haryana

The government of Haryana shuts all universities, colleges till March 31.
