Mutual fund SIP equity schemes have started to improve as the inflows in the equity mutual funds have hit record-dip. Mutual fund investors who were patient in the critical time can applaud. Most of the schemes which were showing negative returns in the previous weeks have become definite. Those who were already showing positive are giving improved and higher profits due to the enhanced equity markets (1).
Experts observed most recovery in the mid-cap and small-cap stocks. In the previous five years, 13 out of 210 equity schemes are dispensing double-digit returns. Of 168 mutual funds, 77 have delivered double-digit gains in SIP from the last ten years. All the projects have furnished positive returns in ten years.
Mutual Fund SIP and Stock Index
The index for BSE mid-cap has increased by 11% in the previous month, and small-cap by 12.5% at the same time.
The best performed in the 5-year tie is the Parag Parikh Long Term Fund that gives Mutual Fund SIP return of 14.72%. It is followed by Quant Active Fund, Quant Tax Plan, Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund, and Axis Midcap Fund. These schemes are giving 13.08%, 12.81%, 11.93%, 11.75%, respectively, as per the research data.
Other mutual fund SIP schemes that have given double-digit returns in the previous five years include IIFL Focused Equity Fund (11.60%), Nippon India, Axis Bluechip Fund (11.52%), Canara Robeco Bluechip Equity Fund (10.68%). It also includes SBI Small Cap Fund (10.39%), Canara Robeco Equity Tax Saver Fund (10.18%), BOI AXA Tax Advantage Fund (10.10%), and PGIM India Diversified Equity Fund (10.07%).
Of 210 equity schemes, only seven systems gave negative returns in the previous 5-years with 10 out of 14 plans in a single category of small-cap funds that gave negative 5-year returns a month ago. It may not be an achievement; however, it would still provide some reprieve to investors complaining about the depletion of their investments.
In the ten years, best mutual fund SIP performers are Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund, SBI Small Cap Fund, Canara Robeco Emerging Equities Fund, Principal Emerging Bluechip Fund, and Quant Active Fund. These mutual fund SIP schemes are delivering returns of 19.32%, 19.09%, 16.88%, 14.88%, 14.44% respectively.
