1 Introduction:
Rajshri Deshpande is an eminent Bollywood actor and also a social activist. She rose to prominence due to her performance in the controversial Indian film ‘Angry Indian Goddesses.’ The movie helped her in earning International fame and recognition.
She became a prominent name after her role in the hit web-series Sacred Games, where she played the wife of Nawazuddin Sidiqqui, aka Gaitonde. Rajshri is a social activity and spends most of her time, dedicating it to humanitarian causes.
2 Early Life of Rajshri Deshpande
She was born and brought up in a middle-class family in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. She has an undergraduate degree in Law from the Symbiosis Law College and a postgraduate law degree in advertising from the same college.
She first forayed into the advertising industry to support herself and her family but later joined the acting job as she found herself more suitable as an actor. To improve her skills in acting, she also has a diploma in film making from the famous Whistling Woods Institute stated at Mumbai.
3 Acting Career of Rajshri Deshpande:
She began her acting career by portraying a small role in the Aamir Khan starrer ‘Talaash.’ She did small television roles in famous shows like ’24:India’ and ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ before returning to the big screen again by playing a small part in the movie ‘Kick.’
It was the movie ‘Angry Indian Goddesses‘ which made her earn International recognition and fame. She also received the People’s Choice Award at the Rome Film Festival. She became a popular name in India due to her portrayal of a sensual scene with her co-actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the hit web series Sacred Games.
Her videos became viral in no time, and a particular section of media even blamed and opposed her for doing the scene. But Rajshri was stern in her opinion and defended her acts quite bravely.
Because of this controversy, she earned many fans all around the world. She motivates people and helps them to become self-sustainable through her humanitarian work. She adopted a drought-hit village in Maharashtra and works as an activist in many prominent NGOs such as Juhi Chawla’s NGO, Citizens for Tomorrow, and Nabhangan Foundation.
