Food delivery giant Zomato will be making a few changes and adding specials in its Zomato Gold membership program, announced founder & CEO, Deepinder Goyal. The members will soon be provided exclusive Zomato Gold offers & deals, including the privilege of free valet parking at some restaurants and malls as Gold Specials.

Currently, the food-tech unicorn startup has over 15,000 Zomato Gold restaurant partners across dine out and delivery categories. The firm recently rolled out a few changes in Zomato Gold offers in the last two months, including a maximum of two Gold unlocks per table, one unlock a day, discontinuation of Gold trials, and so on.

Zomato Gold #logout campaign’s impact

In August, the restaurants commenced a battle with the food apps when over 300 restaurants under the National Restaurant Association of India began a #logout campaign. Many Zomato Gold restaurant expressed dissatisfaction with some of the user policies under Zomato Gold by logging out.

Zomato launched a survey a few weeks back to collect feedback from its Gold partners about the new changes. According to the survey:

  • The restaurateur community-appreciated & valued maximum of two unlocks per table change the most,
  • With 40% of respondents choosing as the change with the most positive impact
  • 25% appreciating the change that a user can unlock Gold only once in a day.
  • Around 22% of respondents were happy with Zomato’s added customer feedback options for partners to block & rate abusive and rude users.

The food-tech giant added 110,000 new Zomato Gold users in India alone in October, making it the highest number of Zomato Gold memberships sold so far in a month.
