Zomato Gold #logout campaign’s impact

In August, the restaurants commenced a battle with the food apps when over 300 restaurants under the National Restaurant Association of India began a #logout campaign. Many Zomato Gold restaurant expressed dissatisfaction with some of the user policies under Zomato Gold by logging out.

Zomato launched a survey a few weeks back to collect feedback from its Gold partners about the new changes. According to the survey:

  • The restaurateur community-appreciated & valued maximum of two unlocks per table change the most,

  • Around 22% of respondents were happy with Zomato’s added customer feedback options for partners to block & rate abusive and rude users.

The food-tech giant added 110,000 new Zomato Gold users in India alone in October, making it the highest number of Zomato Gold memberships sold so far in a month.
