Amazon India Join Hands with IRCTC, Lanches Train Ticket Booking

Amazon India

Amazon India (1), the ecommerce platform, has joined hands with IRCTC, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation. It now offers customers the facility to book reserved train tickets on its app. While commenting on the development, Amazon India stated that it has also waived off payment gateway and service transaction charges.

With this new offering, the company’s customers would check seat and quota availability across all train classes on its app. They can also add money to their Amazon Pay Balance Wallet in advance. Moreover, the ecommerce giant also stated that if a customer pays via Amazon Pay Balance, he will get an instant refund in booking failures or cancellations.

According to Amazon India, the new feature is open to both Android and iOS app users. They can avail it by clicking on the train/travel category in the Amazon Pay tab. From there, users can select their travel routes, dates and get a list of all available trains.

Moreover, if a customer wishes to cancel a ticket, they can do under the ‘Your Order’ section. A 24×7 help is available for customers by Amazon over chat or phone.

Amazon India to make Customers Life More Easy and Convenient with the Move.

While speaking on the recent development, the Director of Amazon Pay, Vikas Bansal, stated that the team is excited to partner with IRCTC and take a step forward towards making lives more comfortable and convenient for its customers. Previously, Amazon launched flight and bus ticket bookings on its platform. With the latest move, the team is enabling travel across any more as per our customers’ preferences.

As per estimates, the move is part of Amazon India’s push towards its digital payment app, Amazon Pay. Last Saturday, it launched a new feature in Amazon Pay that would allow customers to make credit card payments via UPI or internet banking.

Besides the credit-card bill payment services, the ecommerce giant also offers a co-branded credit card in collaboration with ICICI Bank. The card users get rewards and earnings from every purchase both on and off Amazon.in in the form of Amazon Pay Balance.
