EDITORIAL STANDARDS & CODE OF PRACTICE

This document's principal intention is to give our authors a list of editorial guidelines, a compilation of ethical journalism's rigorous quality, industry standards, and content sections that our authors must follow.

We seek to tell the truth and serve no one. We accomplish this through truthful and unbiased journalism, serving an engaged community that rejects farce and pretense and demands truth and authenticity.

Each category and page reflects a separate voice communicating to a particular audience. Despite this, they all have a passion for developing trustworthy relationships with their readers, viewers, and listeners through bold, truthful, and outstanding journalism about what matters or should matter to them.

We tell our readers what we know, how we know it, why we think it is important, and how we got there. We attempt to assist our readers in comprehending their reality by informing, untangling, and amusing them, but above all, we strive to tell the truth as we see it.

With brilliance and audacity, we will write honestly, clearly, and unsentimentally. Nonetheless, we will treat our readers and the people we write about fairly and respect the humanity of those we cover.

EDITORIAL PROCESS

The Editorial Guideline is required all TimesNext.com authors to abide by the terms and conditions of content management and writing. Every author must follow TimesNext.com's policies and procedures to avoid policy violations.

  • The submitted work is subjected to a rigorous editor review procedure by experts in the field.
  • A review considers the following factors: relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language.
  • The content or article is subjected to one to two rounds of editor evaluation. The publication of content is subject to author and editor standards. Among the possible modifications are

(1) Content Approved

  • Minor Changes (Content Approved)
  • Grammatical Errors
  • Headline Errors
  • Change of Information (With remark about the correction)

(2) Content Rejection (Re-Submission encouraged)

  • Significant Changes (Content Rejected)
  • Violation of Editorial Guidelines
  • Wrong Information
  • Misguidance and Conflicts of Interest
  • If authors are encouraged to update and resubmit a submission, there is no guarantee that the amended submission will be approved if it fails to fulfill the criteria.

EDITORIAL CRITERIA FOR AUTHORS

  • Authors and editors must attest that written content is correctly sourced, including accurate links and attachments.
  • False sources and outside counsel should not be mentioned in articles that can breach the content's guidelines and be rejected.
  • Unless the Editor determines that doing so will raise the value of information to our readers, authors are prohibited from endorsing or advertising any individual or individuals through text, videos, or images.
  • Authors must provide accurate, impartial, and balanced material, and errors must be corrected promptly and publicly, with a footnote requesting the Editor's approval.
  • Authors must write autonomously, freely, and without outside influence while protecting their sources' privacy.
  • The author must use extra caution when covering a sensitive subject and avoid providing bland material.

EDITORIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR EDITORS

  • Editors are the primary decision-makers regarding the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of published content to the readers of the publication.
  • According to the above-mentioned TimesNext approval and rejection criteria, the subject editor is responsible for the material and makes the final determination.
  • Editors must find minor content errors during the editing and review process.
  • When seeking to enhance the publication, editors should always consider the demands of the authors and readers.
  • The Editor should guarantee the integrity of the analytical records and the caliber of the content.
  • Editors should ensure that every published research content complies with our widely recognized ethical standards.
  • If editors suspect wrongdoing, they should take action and make every effort to resolve the issue.
  • Editors shouldn't exclude material based on suspicion. They should have evidence of their wrongdoing.
  • Editors should not permit conflicts of interest between writers, reviewers, and board members.

TRANSPARENCY

  • Only our authors and editors decide what to write about and how to approach the project.
  • Advertisers do not influence our reporting, and we always make clear any business ties we may have with any entity that would appear to affect the way we report.
  • Readers must never question if we are providing information because we are being paid to do so rather than because we believe they should be aware of it.
  • Authors should depoliticize their studies by avoiding provocative remarks or contentious map designations because the tight editorial criteria are neutral on any political or territorial issue.
  • In unavoidable events, the content should reserve the right to remark, at least as debatable, at or after publication. The Editor must publish the Editor's notes or reject or retract the content.

EDITORIAL COMPLIANCE

The editorial guidelines are created with the assistance of editorial management, editors-in-chief, and the legal team. These principles cannot serve as infallible standards for the choices editors and authors may have to make on an hourly basis in a world that is changing so quickly and posing many challenges.

They also cannot foresee every circumstance that might occur. However, this set of standards offers an important set of guidelines for those situations where we must make challenging, delicate, or unusual decisions. The application process is the first step in resolving disagreements about our policies.

It will be followed by an extensive discussion with the Editor, supervisors, or, if more appropriate, through other corporate guidelines created to guarantee a fair, equitable, and cooperative workplace. Every editorial team member wants to produce the best journalism possible for their readership.

Everybody follows a routine and uses professional judgment when dealing with readers, subjects, sources, coworkers, etc. However, any errors of judgment in the areas discussed here or willful violations of their intent may be considered serious enough to warrant rejection or the application of the collective bargaining agreement's terms.
