How this team of college passouts is developing amazing video games from the scratch – GBit Studios

Aniruddha Joshi's curiosity in the gaming world and his love for video games lead to the development of the student-run startup, GBit Studios.

The influence that video games had on us in our childhood is remarkable as we believe it or not, and they taught us things that schools can never teach. Several studies have shown the positive effects of playing video games on adolescents’ behaviors and development. Video games come with several challenges for the young generation, along with entertaining them. We all look at the adverse effects of video games that they put a strain on eyes because of constant staring at the screen and how its a waste of time, but they are also teaching kids and even the young generation how to handle a situation where they have to make some decisions.

Playing games help in developing improved hand-eye coordination with several games that offer different types of interface for the players to interact with. It also enhances the critical thinking capabilities of the players as they interact with extensive worlds and characters trying to find different ways to win the game. A lot of us wished to play games all day long, but things changed with time, and the dream to be a gamer is still a dream. However, Aniruddha Joshi decided to turn his dream of becoming a gamer into reality as he launched his gaming startup, GBit Studios, and started developing games. Aniruddha has been an avid gamer since childhood and played popular games on several consoles from the classic PS1 to the modern Nintendo Switch.

Challenges tackled by the team

Every startup has its problems, and they are always trying to find ways to tackle them. One of the biggest challenges faced by the platform is that they are having a hard time marketing their games and expanding the market. Reaching out to a more significant number of users is vital for the consistent growth of the studio.

In conversation with TimesNext, Aniruddha told us that they haven’t partnered with anyone yet, but they are open to such offers and would like to work with other people and studios too.

The first milestone and the company’s growth

The first milestone for the startup was when they released their first game, “Orbit Rush,” in April 2019. Being a student-run startup, Aniruddha and his team had a lot of learning left to do as well as learn new skills and work tirelessly to develop this game. The company is still working in its early stage and trying to make their way in the gaming market with their games.

Gamer’s vision for GBit Studios

Aniruddha is a B.Tech final year student at NIT-W, and his indie game studio is working hard to provide a wholesome and immersive gaming experience for the players. He also has big plans for the studio as he wishes to expand in the field of virtual reality and augmented reality. Currently, the games are available on the Google Play Store, and he wishes to expand his games to consoles like PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo.
