The Government has requested applications from students and professionals interested in internships with the authorities in the management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students and experts from the IIMs and other leading educational institutions across the country recognized by the Government may apply for an internship. Unlike the usual internships of a few months, the government has issued a notice of internship that will last for more than eight months. The notification in this regard was issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Complaints, and Pensions. Visit here.

Government internship amid COVID-19 outbreak

According to the guidelines for social distancing, the internship is entirely working from home, according to a notice issued by the government. In anticipation of a large number of applications for a unique opportunity, the government has also devised a selection process for the selected group of interns out of the total number of requests. In the first stage, educational institutions will share with the government the names of the total number of interested students. A small interview with the candidates will follow the selection round.

Selection Process for the internship

Eleven empowered government groups will be responsible for assigning the task to selected interns online. The collaboration will be facilitated through a video-app called SLACK. Upon successful completion of the internship, all interns will receive certificates issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). However, no provision has been made by the government for any stipend or monthly allowance. But any experience of working with the government paid or unpaid can not only be used in one’s future career but also holds high esteem among the best foreign universities.

All interested candidates may submit their CV to – manoj.gupta74@nic.in or soigot-dopt@gov.in.
