IIT Delhi has always been the leading college in this category. From 2017 to 2019, these startups were able to raise funding of 7483 million dollars. Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, the co-founders of Flipkart, were alumni of this college. The owner of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal, had also graduated from IIT Delhi.

IIM Ahmedabad

The college is not so far behind IIT Delhi with 462 million dollars raised in funding by their alumni. From the year 2017 to 2019, the startups led by graduates from IIM Ahmedabad were able to raise 2087 million dollars.

IIT Kharagpur

The college has given rise to three unicorn startups, and Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google was also a student of IIT Kharagpur. It was also the alma mater for Rahul Jaimini, the founder of Google and Ramakrishna Adukuri, the founder of Stellapps (1). In the first half of 2020, the companies by alumni of IIT Kharagpur have raised 329 million dollars in funding.

IIM Calcutta

The college is quite famous for giving rise to the owners of many top funded startups in the country. From January 2020 to June 2020, the alumni have raised 328 million dollars as investments. Some of them are Pranay Chulet, Sumant Singa, Sriharsha Majety and Sam Santhosh who are the founders of Quikr, ReNew Power, Swiggy and MedGenome respectively.

IIT Kanpur

In the first half of 2020, the startups by alumni of IIT Kanpur has raised 286 million dollars. The college has given rise to a total of 545 companies, some of which are the top funded startups in India. More than 719 investors have given total funding of 6.94 billion dollars to these companies. It also includes four unicorns startups with great popularity in India.
