Fintech startup MobiKwik has launched its UPI-powered payment link service called MPay.me, that would allow users to create their personal payment link and receive payments, regardless of the app being used to make the UPI transactions.

The Gurugram-based digital payments company noted that the feature would work seamlessly on desktop and mobile phones.

The personal links launched by the firm would allow users to make payments to anyone on any UPI platform, be it, Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, or MobiKwik.

Announced in their blog (1), MobiKwik stated,

“Basically, it’s a single link that you can share anywhere and collect payments. It works seamlessly on desktop and mobile. Plus, you don’t have to worry about the UPI app your friends use.”

The Power of UPI

The digital payments platform was founded by Bipin Preet Singh and Upasana Taku in 2009. It has gone from being a mere digital wallet to a complete fintech firm catering to all the horizontals of financial services credit, insurance, gold loans, etc.

The company claims to have over 110 million users on its platform.

In its blog, MobiKwik further mentioned that UPI has revolutionized the way everyone digitally transacts and has empowered small to medium-sized businesses across the country.

It added that the power of UPI lies in the fact that it had always been envisioned as an open, interoperable ecosystem.

The fintech market in India is majorly dominated by giants like Paytm, Google Pay, and PhonePe, along with Amazon Pay and WhatsApp Payments looking to mark their place in the market.
