Number of COVID-19 cases cross 8000 mark in India – 19th day of lockdown

Nine hundred nine new cases of coronavirus were reported in the last 24 hours, and 273 have died so far. Amidst, these heart-wrenching news there is a ray of hope too, 715 people have been cured till now. 

 

Latest Updates On COVID-19

  • Maharastra remains on the top in the number of cases with 1761 cases. 
  • The total number of cases has crossed 1000 in Delhi.
  • Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary in Health Ministry, said that if lockdown was not there, the numbers have reached 8.2 L by 15 April.
  • The lockdown is expected to extend beyond 14 April.
  • Odisha, Maharastra, and Punjab have already extended the curfew in their respective states. 
  • According to The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 1.79 L samples had been tested in India until Saturday.
  • All over the globe, the cases have reached 17 Lakhs and death toll to over 1 lakh.
  • The USA is the worst hit with over 5 Lakhs cases.
