Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched upon the possibility of quitting his social media accounts on various active social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Youtube.

PM Modi tweeted on his official twitter handle:

Soon after the tweet, social media went abuzz about the reasons why Modi was thinking of leaving social media, and in minutes after the tweet, the hashtag #NoSir started trending with the users urging him not to give up his account.

Within 30 minutes, PM Modi’s tweet had evoked as many as 13,000 replies and 9,000 tweets.


Modi one of the most followed political figures worldwide

PM Narendra Modi is one of the most followed political figures worldwide on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, with 44 million individuals following him on Facebook and 35.2 million followers on photo-sharing platform Instagram.

Further on, Youtube PM Modi’s official account has 4.5 million subscribers and is followed by 53.3 million people on twitter.
