After selling a 9.99 percent stake of its company to Facebook, Reliance Jio has integrated its popular grocery delivery app, JioMart, with Facebook-owned, WhatsApp. As of now, the services are available only in Mumbai, Thane, and Kalyan.

The user experience will be very smooth now, as the idea of ordering through WhatsApp would be very convenient.

How to place an order?

To enable the JioMart services, the user needs to save the number of JioMart (8850008000) on his/her phone. After this, the user has to send a ‘Hi’ to this number. JioMart then sends a link through which you can order. Necessary information like Name, Address, Payment mode, etc., should be filled out before placing an order. The link remains valid for 30 minutes.

The products list is minimal currently as the supermarkets and online services are limited to only daily essentials right now. Once the lockdown gets lifted, the users can enjoy a variety of products on JioMart.

Once the order placed, the user will get a notification via WhatsApp, stating that the order was accepted. Also, a store link is sent to the user. The details of the shop would also be mentioned here. Constant updates of shipping and packaging the orders would notify through WhatsApp.

JioMart – A new addition to the reliance family:

JioMart primarily launched in January 2020. The service offers more than 50,000 products to its users. But currently, due to the lockdown imposed, it is delivering around 40 essentials products. Mukesh Ambani is planning to launch this service throughout India. The reason why JioMart integrated with WhatsApp is to reach out to the 400 million WhatsApp user base in India.

JioMart will face a lot of challenges right now. There are huge companies like BigBasket and Grofers, which have a lot of users. E-commerce giants like Amazon and Flipkart have also started delivering groceries. JioMart is hoping to overcome these hurdles and start delivering successfully throughout India.
