Yediyurappa’s government has announced relaxations in green zones of the state. It also announced the IT companies to work from home till July.

The easing of restrictions followed according to the color-coded strategy. Green zones are witnessing some activity, while red and orange zones entirely sealed.

Suresh Kumar (1), the education minister of Karnataka, mentioned that further guidelines would be released regarding the operation of businesses.

Red zone areas like Bengaluru Urban, Mysuru, Bidar, etc. completely sealed, and no activities are allowed.

Bengaluru is also known as the IT capital of India. Many IT companies have camped in Bengaluru. Most of these companies have granted work from home for their employees until further notice due to the pandemic. Bengaluru is considered as a red zone as it accounts for 61 cases out of the total 295 active cases.

The Karnataka government is currently trying to reopen small businesses, including the sales of liquor, as this is one of the biggest revenue generators. But, the decision is made according to the growth of the case in the state.

A total of 11 people tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. This takes the total number of cases in Karnataka to 523. The death toll was 20, and approximately 307 patients recovered and were discharged from the hospital.

As per the instructions given by the government, shops, and businesses located in the green zones are allowed to open. But, the industries in the town of Ramnagar instructed to remain closed as most workers live in Bengaluru.

The companies or industries have to arrange accommodation and transportation facilities for the workers. The employer will bear this responsibility.

The shops, enterprises, and other businesses dealing with multi-brand products can operate with 50 percent strength of workers.

Karnataka is one of the most successful states to contain the spread of the pandemic. The rate of COVID-19 in Karnataka is currently 8.38 cases per million population, while Delhi has 185.92.

The average in the last five days has reduced to 1.87 percent. A total of 4,827 tests conducted on Tuesday and just eleven people were tested positive.
